Sachiko Ishida received her B. Eng and M. Eng from Kyoto University, performing research on numerical fluid dynamics and stability on fluid flows at Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

She subsequently joined Michelin Research Asia Co. Ltd. and contributed R&D in a scope of mechanical vibration and noise of tires. She was awarded her Ph. D. in Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology. After working in Tokyo Institute of Technology and in Meiji Institute for Advanced Study of Mathematical Sciences as a research fellow, and in Meiji University as assistant professor, she has been serving as senior assistant professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering, Meiji University, since April 2016.

Her current research interests include structure designs and vibro-acoustic analysis on origami-based structures.
